Chaos in the CBD - amongst the most exciting acts around.
10/11/18
Despite being raised listening to their parents’ David Bowie and James Brown records in their native New Zealand, it is brothers Louis and Ben Helliker-Hales’ love of electronic music and their prolific releases of nostalgic jazz-infused house and techno music that make Chaos in The CBD one of the most exciting acts around.
While the boys are famous for their
quality production and unique sound,
it is their talents behind the decks
that caught Emergency Room’s eye.
While the boys acknowledge the lack
of a record culture during their youth
in New Zealand, their digital music
collections often boasted as many
as 60,000 songs, and their fresh and
exciting track selection reflects a
love of discovering and gathering
new tunes.
The duo have stated that their sets
are not grounded in a philosophy.
Whether performing in London, down
under, or anywhere in between, they
play songs that make them happy
and hope they make others feel the same, and you can always catch them performing with a smile on their face.
Having grown in popularity in recent years, 2016 was a huge year for these two, culminating in their first Boiler Room set in London in October of that year, and they have since been invited back twice more.
With just over a week until the Chaos boys take over Bristol’s Thekla with Emergency Room, we cannot wait to see what tunes they dig out. Having been on Emergency Room’s radar for some time, this night is not going to be one to miss. Tickets are selling out fast, so get yours here to avoid disappointment.
